On the 18th. of April 1952 US troops of the 2nd./15th. United States Regiment
were relieved by the 1st. Battalion Welch Regiment for the continued defence of Hill 355 (Kowang-san).
The Stars and Stripes was lowered by Sgt. B. Miller, and replaced with the Welch Regiments Battle Flag
The Red Dragon of Cadwallader, raised by Company Sergeant Major Ralph Cude of Swansea.
Below: Major Salmon (Welch) shaking hands with Captain Coles (US 45th.) at that ceremony.
First with the Stars and Stripes. The second with the Red Dragon of Cadwallader.
(not to be mistaken for a reverse of the first)
There is no record of whether it is Captain Coles in both pictures.
